The cake smash is a favourite for first birthdays, and for good reason. Babies and toddlers digging into a cake with total seriousness, then total delight, produce pictures no posed setup can match. If your child has allergies, tell us in advance about cake ingredients and the setup can be adjusted around them.

Shorter mini-sessions are available for busy families, and large groups — extended family included — are welcome, with group shots planned so nobody is left standing awkwardly at the edge. Friends of the birthday child can join group pictures too, and the session covers both the staged moments and the unplanned ones: a hug from a grandparent, a burst of laughter mid-game. If your celebration has a particular colour scheme or a favourite character, the decor and backdrops can be matched to it, so the pictures feel like your party rather than a generic setup.

Sessions last one to two hours, at a relaxed pace that gives children room to be themselves.

A well-rested child with snacks and favourite toys in the bag photographs far better than a tired one, so a little preparation before the session pays off in the pictures.

Outdoors and venues in Kolkata

Birthday pictures do not have to stay indoors. Garden and park sessions work beautifully, and home sessions suit families who want the celebration photographed where it happens. For outdoor frames, Eco Park offers green, stroller-friendly space, the Maidan gives wide open greens, and Rabindra Sarobar suits quieter lakeside pictures. Venue coverage is available too, so a party at a hall or a home celebration can be photographed as it unfolds, with candid moments and posed family portraits side by side.

How the session runs

Before the session, you talk through the theme, the outfits, who will be there, and anything special — a cake smash, a cultural element, a particular setup your child loves. On the day, the session moves between planned setups and candid moments, so the final set feels like the celebration itself rather than a studio exercise.

Edited photographs are delivered within ten to fourteen days, and all RAW photographs are included. Digital files are included, with optional albums and framed photos for the pictures you want on the wall.
